Prescription medications play a vital role in disease fighting and maintaining good health. The demand for pharmacy technicians, who assist pharmacists in supplying medicines to patients and in providing information to patients and other healthcare professionals, is expected to increase 9% from 2014-2024. Pharmacy technicians are in-demand professionals located in hospitals, drugstores, doctors’ offices and grocery stores.

York College, CUNY Continuing and Professional Education Center is offering the PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician course for the spring semester!

Students will prepare to work as a pharmacy technician in retail and other pharmacy settings and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam.

This course includes, but not limited to:

• 50 hours of lecture regarding pharmacy medical terminology, and history
• 80 Hours clinical externship
• Hands on laboratory workshop
• Reviewing dosage calculations, drug classifications, and the “top 200 drugs”
